You can create a repetitive pattern in some simple steps. You can also make an attractive background as below using your creativity: Select New from File. Create a new file of dimension 10 x 10px. Press (ctrl and +) to zoom in the image. Select any tool to draw. Now define the drawn pattern by simply selecting Define Pattern from edit. Flatten the image by right clicking the background layer. Create a new file with dimensions as your need. Press (shift + F5) to fill the new created image with created pattern. Select appropriate option and click on go. Now to give some designing effects to your image use filter gallery.
